With out INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION I would not be were I'm. Thanks UW Stout left teaching "shop" after 5 years return 26 years latter, shools still thig it's a dumping ground instead for some students like me it's what keep me in school and hope I can pass that love onto my students. Some students are hans on learning which does not fit the model of education we have set up.

Yes, technical schools need to be an option for high schoolers.  Kids drop out of high school because they are not book learners.  School becomes boring for them .

They need to work with their hands, and currently there are no options.  Of course they will go for the computer, because it's the most interesting thing in the room.

Bring back the shop classes and allow these kids to create and be successful in something.  When they can't be successful at book learning, they become frustrated and drop out.

We are having to import skilled and technical worker because we aren't training enough of them in this country.  Kids nowadays don't know how to do anything!  We need to teach them how to be handy.  And most of all, we need to teach them how to get a job.

Career should be made out of something we love. Career is not a Money-Making Job alone, it is what you do for 60 percent of your living time and hence it should be a passion we follow, not just for making money. Career Options should be carefully weighed before making a decision. Always look at the bigger picture.
