Why not use youtube?

I left a reply regarding this type of thing, but why don't more teachers use youtube to update and communicate with students and parents? I would assume there's simply no time usually, and that makes sense, but I have a teacher friend with a youtube page and it's pretty cool. He makes videos every day: http://www.youtube.com/goffmathsix , check them out and get some ideas!!

Most schools have filters that block content. At our school. teachers could not access ANYTHING until last year when the administration finally realized that we needed to have access to use the internet. Unfortunately, we still have to wait MONTHS for ONE person from central office to come to each classroom to install: print drivers, new device drivers and software updates so that by the time we can finally use the technology, the year is over. Its all about CONTROL!
