Muriel Dorsey, a 19-year-old student at Illinois State University, was on a panel at the Aspen Ideas Festival teaching the audience about the academic benefits of debate. Skeptics beware: Dorsey is an expert arguer – she's so good in fact, that she is attending college on a debate scholarship.
After a mock debate with Joshua Rivera (put on for the debate neophytes in the audience,) we asked her how she got into debate in the first place and how it's affected her college career.
