VIDEO BLOG: Joplin's EF-5 Tornado Explained

The May 22, 2011 EF-5 tornado wiped out a third of Joplin, Mo. as it traveled across 13 miles in 20 minutes. It destroyed four schools and damaged another five with winds estimated at over 200 mph and a debris field that rose up 18,000 feet into the sky.
